There were several reasons for the mixed reaction to the trilogy. Almost every element ofThe Ninth Jedihas a direct counterpart in the sequel trilogy. La Cara, a young girl with the gift of the Force and trying to uncover the truth about her father's past, is Rey.Navaam, a warlord who has misinterpreted the lessons of the Jedi's past and uses them as rationale for dominating the galaxy, is the equivalent of Kylo Ren. Lah Zhima, an elderly Jedi deeply ashamed of the actions of his youth and now leading a secluded life, is an analogue of Luke Skywalker.

The project accomplished what should have been done from the very beginning in the Rey trilogy. The Jedi Order is being revived in it. At the same time, Kara’s image is more complex than Rey’s: she struggles with the influence of the dark side, tries to emotionally isolate herself from those around her, but ultimately learns to accept responsibility and leads the Jedi into the future. Nawaam gets a more rewarding ending than Ben Solo: a chance at redemption by joining the Jedi. Lah Zhima does not die immediately like Luke - he enters the battle and survives, giving way to the next generation of Jedi.

In addition to developing the characters, The Ninth Jedi does a better job with the global plot. The spin-offVisionsintroduced a new cast of heroes to move the story forward and delved deeply into the political situation in this version of the galaxy. The sequel trilogy failed to achieve any of these goals.

But Andor wasn't the only realistic political thriller set in the Star Wars universe that came out last year. Alexander Fried wrote The Mask of Fear (Reign of the Empire), the first book in a trilogy that, thanks to the shared characters and maturity of the plot, is a prequel to ​Andor. Saw Gerrera

Saw Gerrera, played by Forest Whitaker, is a hardened and radical rebel who believes violence is necessary to defeat the Empire. In the Andor series, he appears in several episodes as the more militant, morally uncompromising side of the nascent rebellion.

Sou is one of the main characters in the novel Edge of the Abyss. His failed mission at the beginning of the novel sets off a plot that revolves around Sou and the other rebels trying to figure out what to do with one of his supporters captured by the Empire and capable of revealing secrets.

Mon Mothma

Mon Mothma, played by Genevieve O'Reilly, is an Imperial senator from Chandrila who is secretly working to create and finance the nascent rebellion while maintaining her public position in Palpatine's government. The Andor series explores the enormous political and personal sacrifices she makes as she gradually becomes one of the most important leaders of the rebellion.

Mon is another key character in The Edge of the Abyss. Her main conflict in the novel takes the form of a seemingly endless struggle to balance her responsibilities as a senator (and secret rebel) with her responsibilities as a mother and daughter. Mon's relationship with her daughter proves particularly compelling, as Roanhorse interestingly plays with the uncomfortable questions that many parents can face. What to do when your child doesn't share your values? What happens when your child, whom you love more than life itself, is more like your partner, whom you hate, than like you?Roanhorse allows Mon to grapple with this concept, which leads into her storylines in both seasons ofAndor.

Bail Organa

Bail Organa, played by Benjamin Bratt in the second season of Andor, is an Imperial senator from Alderaan and one of the key political figures who laid the foundations of the Rebel Alliance. His role links a more cautious political resistance with a growing organized rebellion against the Empire.

Bale plays a key role in The Edge of the Abyss. As one of the rising leaders of the nascent Rebel Alliance, Bail is motivated to stop captured follower Saw from revealing the Empire's secrets. However, unlike Sou, Bail does not want to kill her, instead she chooses a more legal route to get her out of trouble by offering her legal help.

Luten Rael

Luthen Rael, played by Stellan Skarsgård, is the secretive head of Rebel Intelligence and one of the unsung architects of the Rebel Alliance. Posing as an elegant antiques dealer on Coruscant, Luten secretly coordinates agents and operations across the galaxy, using the ruthless methods he believes are necessary to defeat the Empire.

Luthen appears at several points in The Edge of the Abyss. Luten is the character who pulls the strings to convince Anto Krigir to join the student organization on Gorman and attempt a daring heist at a popular singer's concert on Canto Bight. It is later revealed that Luten coordinated the murder of a captured guerrilla by Sow by poisoning the cakes brought to the prison.Luten did not believe that Sou would commit murder, as he seemed to have a personal attachment to his follower.

Kleya Marki

Kleya Marki, played by Elizabeth Dulau, is Luten Rael's seemingly ordinary assistant at his antique gallery, but in reality she is his right-hand woman, his most capable agent, and his adopted daughter. In Andor, she manages secret communications and undertakes dangerous missions, proving that she is as dedicated and ruthless as Luten in protecting the rebel network.

In The Edge of the Abyss it is revealed that Clay went undercover into the student movement on Gorman to evaluate whether they could be used as tools against the Empire. At the end of the novel, Clay approaches Saw Gerrera with an offer to recruit him to rob Aldani, although he refuses to cooperate.

Anto Krigir

Anto Krigir, played by Barry Gyngell, is a maverick rebel leader whose planned attack on the Imperial power plant at Spellhouse becomes a major test of Luten's willingness to sacrifice individuals for the sake of a larger rebellion. Although his screen time is limited to a single static hologram, his fate demonstrates the cruel calculations and moral compromises at the heart of Luten's early insurgency.

Krigir plays a significant role in The Edge of the Abyss. Desperate to prove himself a rebel, Krigir follows the suggestion of his mysterious bar buddy (aka Luten) to go to Gorman and recruit students to rob a popular singer's concert on Canto Bight.Previously, Krigir had tried to win over Sow Gerrera, but was rebuffed because the hardened activist did not consider Krigir serious in his rebellious intentions.

Lio Partagaz

Major Lio Partagaz, played by Anton Lesser, is a senior Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) officer overseeing efforts to identify and suppress growing rebellions across the galaxy. In Andor, he appears as a cold, disciplined and unusually eloquent administrator, demanding evidence and effective action from his subordinates, including Dedra Meero.

Partagaz appears in one of the chapters of "Edge of the Abyss" when he reprimands his officer Tavia Tarow for the way she carried out a covert operation on Gorman. Tavia is the handler of Hemish, one of the novel's main characters, who infiltrates the student movement on Gorman to find out if they pose a real threat to the Empire. Tavia arrogantly presents Partagaz with her supposed "victory" in the mission, which is extremely unsatisfactory on her part.

Nisus Osar

Nisus Osar, played by Tom Durant-Pritchard, is an official in the Empire's Ministry of Education involved in the formation of propaganda associated with Gorman. His role in the early stages of the second season of Andor illustrates how the Empire uses manipulation of information and public statements, along with military force, to control the population and justify its actions.

In the novel The Edge of the Abyss, the propagandist appears as a manipulative figure operating behind the scenes. He first appears as a sinister figure in the life of Quanalico, one of the most popular singers in the galaxy. Osar wants to use Quanalico's music to indoctrinate the youth of the galaxy and win them over as supporters of the Empire.Osar later hijacks a benefit concert organized by Mon Mothma and Quanalico to further bolster the latter's image. At the end of the novel, Mon defeats Osar, forcing him to return the stolen funds from the benefit concert in Canto Bight to her so that she can distribute them fairly among schools across the galaxy.

Leida Mothma

Leida Mothma, played by Bronte Carmichael, is the teenage daughter of Mon Mothma, whose growing attachment to traditional Chandrilan customs strains her relationship with her politically minded mother. In Andor, Leida's personal life is closely intertwined with Mon's secret rebel activities, highlighting the painful family sacrifices Mon made in her resistance to the Empire.

Leida appears throughout The Edge of the Abyss as Mon struggles with his responsibilities to his daughter and the galaxy at large. Leida is clearly more inclined to the apolitical Perrin, but Mon sees her interest in the singer Quanalico as a way to win her daughter's favor and benefit the galaxy.

Perrin Fert

Perrin Firth, played by Alastair Mackenzie, is Mon Mothma's husband and Leida's father. In Andor, his privileged, socially oriented lifestyle and tense relationship with Mon highlight the isolation she experiences while secretly working against the Empire from within the political system, which takes a serious toll on her family well-being.

Mon's disgruntled husband appears in several heated arguments throughout the novel The Edge of the Abyss.Perrin laments Mon's dedication to politics and how it harms their family.

Dasi Oran

Dasi Oran, played by Raphael Roger Levy, is a longtime friend and political ally of Mon Mothma, representing the Gormans in the Imperial Senate. In Andor, he is arrested by Imperial forces after publicly criticizing Palpatine's regime for the Gorman massacre.

Although Mon Mothma does not appear directly in the novel Abyss's Edge, it clearly states that she is "trying to establish a working relationship with the Gorman senator, Dasi Oran."

Published by Electronic Arts, this title is a purely single-player game that puts players at the head of Company Zero, a mercenary squad waging a secret war at the end of the Clone Wars.

Our review of Star Wars Zero Company:

A game in the Star Wars universe that came out almost unnoticed - so little was said about it that the question arises why they were silent for so long. Perhaps for the sake of surprise? This is how we perceived the release: the project adds a fresh breeze to a genre that has long needed inspiration.

Let me remind you of the concept: turn-based tactical battles during the Clone Wars, on the side of Commander Hawks and hisCompany Zero. She is sent on a top-secret operation to neutralize the Eternal Spira, a mysterious and diseased faction with a dark history.

Regarding gameplay, please note that each character has their own skills related to weapons, shelters, and developing connections as you progress through the campaign. The battles and tasks are varied - bring back an ally, eliminate an enemy threat, obtain data or find artifacts. While the core gameplay may feel a little repetitive, the wide range of tactical approaches and missions successfully keeps boredom at bay.

The interest in the formula also lies in its structure.Between two tactical battles in turn, the developers offer more classic RPG elements in a semi-empty environment (the main base and several corridors leading to the battle zones). These intervals, focused on intelligence gathering, regularly change the pace of gameplay.

As for progress, following the story is not so easy. The rhythm is constantly fluctuating: quick tactical decisions in the menu (which provide instant rewards), turn-based combat missions, and loop management that forces you to prioritize and pay for it with other goals.

Plan your choice of missions in advance

Managing cycles requires tough decisions. You won't be able to do everything at once: prioritize missions that bring resources or critical information for your squad, so as not to miss a valuable opportunity later.

Diversify your team

Don't get hung up on one squad color scheme. Character synergy and weapon features depend on site conditions. Adjust your tactics before entering the field - this way, your chances of maintaining your combat forces and not suffering heavy losses are higher. Don't forget about snipers.

Alternate exploration and combat

Don't rush into battles - explore the base between encounters. These quiet episodes help you obtain key information, open up new missions and provide a breather between tactical battles.

We're less than a month away from the release of Star Wars: Galactic Racer, a new video game that will allow fans to get behind the wheel of the fastest cars in the galaxy and compete for glory on planets like Jakku. Today it was announced that the full soundtrack for the game will be released on October 6th, at the same time as the game itself. To keep fans interested, the main theme was released today.

Galactic Racer is set in the early days of the New Republic, and players take on the role of Shade, an up-and-coming Galactic League racer with a grudge against the powerful Kestar Bulu. Shade will move up the career ladder thanks to his friendship with the Ardennes mechanic Hibi and Sebulba himself! Shade will control three types of vehicles - landspeeders, speederbikes and a new vehicle - skimspeeder. Players will also be able to control Pod Racers in levels featuring familiar characters from The Phantom Menace.

The game's music was composed by veteran composer Gordie Haab, who has also created music for numerous other Star Wars games, including the popular turn-based strategy game Star Wars: Zero Company. The official YouTube channelStar Wars posted a video about the creation of the game's music, where Haab shared his enthusiasm for resuming work on the project and talked about how he was able to create an original sound that would fit seamlessly into the established musical landscape of Star Wars.

Simultaneously with the announcement, the first track was presented on Screen Rant, which is already available for listening in full. The song, titled “The Soul of Racing (Main Theme),” will be the loading screen music and the first sound fans will hear when they first launch the game.The track quickly builds up the tempo and sense of urgency, conveying the thrilling races of the Star Wars universe and creating the atmosphere of the upcoming adventure.

Guests were invited to Lucas Square for a cocktail reception accompanied by a 27-piece orchestra.Acclaimed Virginia Beach vocal group Voices of Fire, co-founded by Bishop Ezekiel Williams and Pharrell Williams, along with Jon Batiste on piano and 75 other vocalists, performed a set including "Yoda's Theme," "Happy" and "JOY (Unspeakable)" from Star Wars, bringing their powerful blend of gospel music to the stage. soul, R&B and modern vocal arrangements. The program, hosted by Queen Latifah, then featured appearances by George Lucas, Mellody Hobson, Ma Yansong and Lucas Museum CEO Tracy Bates.

• Queen Latifah: “They decided to build a museum for these artists that was so monumental that it would be impossible to ignore them. Yes, because these artists deserve recognition, but also because George and Mellody believe there is more to this art.They believe that narrative art is a way of passing on values from generation to generation.”

Guests were invited to explore more than 30 galleries of the museum, and then gather on the fifth floor rooftop for a special entertainment program. The special drone show, presented and narrated by Oprah Winfrey and Samuel L. Jackson of Nova Sky Stories, created narrative artwork in the night sky showcasing images from the museum's collection, including Altamira's Cave, N. C. Wyeth's The Book of Stories, Julie Bell's The Huntress ,
Girl with a Balloonby Banks, Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, and Ecstasyby Maxfield Parrish.

The party continued indoors with a surprise performance by the Black Eyed Peas performing a medley of hits including "Let's Get it Started," "Where Is the Love" and "I Gotta Feeling." Other highlights of the evening included performances by LA Dance Project, Jake Shimabukuro, Xavier de Maistre, Damien Escobar, Kaki King, DJ Kiss and DJ MOS.

About the Lucas Museum

George Lucas and Mellody Hobson co-founded the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art to honor the universal tradition of telling stories through images. Covering everything from prehistoric cave paintings to contemporary cinema, the museum explores and celebrates the power of visual storytelling to inspire people, shape beliefs and ideals, and build communities.

The museum, located at Exposition Park in Los Angeles, occupies a 300,000-square-foot building designed by MAD's Ma Yansong in collaboration with Stantec.
