Two of Star Wars' favorite bounty hunters return in "Tales of the Underworld."

Meet Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane ahead of the original shorts' season three premiere on May 4, 2025 on Disney+ in a newly revealed trailer and poster.

Lady Asajj Ventress and her yellow lightsaber return with the infamous trickster Cad Bane in a new anthology of short animated films.

Today Lucasfilm and Disney+ announced Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, the third installment in the Tales anthology series, following Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, returning to beloved characters, to explore previously untold but key stories. Tales of the Underworld, streaming on Disney+ this Star Wars Day, May 4th, is a six-episode journey on the trail of two famous bounty hunters: former Dark Side assassin Asajj Ventress, who gets a new chance at life and must go on the run with an unexpected new ally, and criminal Cad Bane, who confronts his past when he encounters an old friend, now a marshal on the other side. law.

In the new trailer for the series, fans can see how Ventress and Bane survive in the shadow of the Empire. Wearing a tattered cape, Ventress—last seen in Season 3 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch—ignites her sword to face a mysterious red-bladed foe as the young Padawan fights for his life in the wake of Order 66.And donning his iconic hat, Bane finds himself in yet another intense blaster showdown as steel beaks circle overhead—a confrontation that's reminiscent of his appearance in the live-action film The Book of Boba Fett.

New key art for the series gives us a closer look at a host of new characters and another familiar face: Latts Razzi, the Thielin bounty hunter we first met in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Ventress, Bane and the others float above the credits symbol, the third in a trilogy of posters that previously featured the Jedi Order symbol and the Imperial Gear emblem.

The voice cast for Tales from the Underworld features returning voice actors Nika Futterman as Asajj Ventress and Corey Burton as Cad Bane, as well as Art Butler, Lane Factor, AJ LoCascio, Claire Grant, Don-Lyen Gardner and Eric Lopez. 

Dave Filoni created the series and serves as supervising director. He also serves as an executive producer along with Athena Yvette Portillo and Carrie Beck. Josh Rhimes is co-executive producer, Alex Spotswood is senior producer, and Matt Michnovec is writer.
