Episode III will be shown in select US theaters for a limited time to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the film's release.

Anakin Skywalker is set to bring peace, freedom, justice and safety to his new Empire on the big screen.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the premiere of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the final film in the prequel trilogy, Episode III will be re-released theatrically on April 25, 2025, in select U.S. theaters and international territories for one week. The screenings will be available in several formats, including, for the first time, 4DX. From the thrilling battles on the planet Coruscant to the fiery volcanic heights of Mustafar, relive this pivotal chapter in the Skywalker saga; The 4DX experience features high-tech chair movements that are synchronized with over 21 effects, all designed to complement the film's narrative.

Acclaimed graphic artist Matt Ferguson has once again created a new poster for the reissue event, his most intricate work to date. The expansive painting features the looming mask of Darth Vader enveloping Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) on his journey to execute Order 66, as well as Ferguson's artistic illustration of the fateful lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Anakin, as well as skyline of Coruscant with warships above the burning Jedi Temple.

“The space battle and elements of Mustafar are really complex, with a lot more ships and explosions than my other Star Wars posters,” Ferguson tells StarWars.com.“This is a movie where everything really plays out for Anakin.”

Set several years after the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith is the final film in the prequel trilogy, chronicling the fall of a noble Jedi Order, forcing a handful of survivors, including Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Master Yoda, into hiding. As the Jedi Knights become generals leading a massive army of clones in a galactic battle against the Separatists, the sinister Sith uncover a thousand-year-old plot to take over the galaxy. And as the Republic collapses and the evil Galactic Empire rises from the ashes, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker is seduced by the dark side of the Force to become Emperor Palpatine's new apprentice - Darth Vader.

The film stars Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, Ian McDiarmid, Frank Oz as Yoda, Jimmy Smits, Peter Mayhew, Ahmed Best, Oliver Ford Davis, Temuera Morrison, Anthony Daniels, Silas Carson and Kenny Baker, as well as Samuel L. Jackson as Mace. Windu and Christopher Lee as Count Dooku. The film was written and directed by Star Warscreator George Lucas.
