Large-scale Star Wars: Genesis mod for Starfield received a major update

Enthusiasts from the modding community continue to actively work on turning the Starfield game into a full-fledged Star Wars project. One of the key areas of this effort is a mod called Star Wars: Genesis, which has recently undergone significant expansion.

Recall that Starfield, being a new large-scale role-playing game from Bethesda, has not been able to fully win the recognition of fans since its release in 2022. Many players believe that its gaming potential is much more realized as the basis for creating a Star Wars project.

A group of modders is actively working to bring this idea to life through the Star Wars: Genesis mod. First released in August 2024, this mod completely transforms almost every aspect of the original game, turning it into a role-playing adventure in the Star Wars universe.

The latest, 7.2 version of the mod adds five new factions, 26 locations, more authentic lore weapons, a redesigned skill system, and the ability to play as a droid to the game. The implementation of such large-scale changes is impressive considering that Genesis is still a free project created by enthusiasts.

The modders even received permission from Lucasfilm to use music from the original Star Wars franchise, replacing it with the Starfield soundtrack. This made it possible to further immerse players in the atmosphere of a galaxy far, far away.

To try out the Star Wars: Genesis mod, you will need the Starfield version available on Steam. The installation process can be greatly simplified using Wabbajack, a special tool for automated installation of modifications. All necessary instructions can be found on official website of the project.
