The continuation of the story of Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, was announced almost a couple of years ago, and Lucasfilm still can’t decide on the film.

Last year, Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) left the project, whose script the management allegedly didn’t really like. He was replaced by George Nolfi (The Bourne Ultimatum, Ocean's 12), according to the publication THR.

At one point, it seemed that Star Wars: The New Jedi Order (as the film is unofficially called) was cancelled. The appointment of a new screenwriter indicates Lucasfilm's faith in the film. Perhaps Rey's story is simply so important to the new trilogy that it cannot be abandoned.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is set to direct, with Ridley reprising her role as Rey Skywalker. The events are rumored to take place 15 years after the finale ofThe Rise of Skywalker . Sunrise.

When will Star Wars: The New Jedi Order be released?
