The second season of Ahsoka(Ahsoka) will feature a character who wields more than two lightsabers. He resembles General Grievous, leader of the droid army inStar Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Work on the second season of Ahsoka has been going on for quite some time. The first season was released in August 2023, and the development of the second season was affected by Hollywood writers' strikes.

The first trailer for the series sequel was presented at the D23 Expo event. The video shows the droid Hyuyang. He encounters Shin Hachi on Peridea.

Notably, the droid holds a lightsaber in each of his four hands. In this footage, Huyang bears a striking resemblance to General Grievous, especially in Grievous's battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Utapau.

Unlike Grievous (who had two green and two blue lightsabers), all four of Hyuyang's lightsabers are yellow in color. It looks like Dave Filoni made an intentional reference to a fan-favorite character.

However, Hyuyang's lightsabers were not always depicted as yellow. Season 2 concept art shown at D23 shows the droid wielding two blue and two green lightsabers. Obviously, this would make him almost identical to Grievous.

This is an architect droid who taught young Jedi how to build a lightsaber. However, he will have a significant improvement in Ahsoka.

The droid is tens of thousands of years old and likely has a great deal of knowledge about the Jedi and lightsabers. However, Huyang never wielded a sword.

He remembers every lightsaber ever created by the Jedi Order, but was never programmed to be a warrior. So it will be interesting to see what pushes Huyang to use not one, but four lightsabers.

The premiere will take place on January 20, 2027 on Disney+.
