Star Wars Zero Company developer wants to continue working on the franchise

Four years after leaving Firaxis to start over, Bit Reactor founder and game director Greg Foerstsch called the critical reception ofStar Wars Zero Company a “surreal”moment and would relish the opportunity to create moreStar Warsgames.
“This is unreal. When you start creating a game, your goal is to make the game of the year, not the strategy of the year, but the game of the year. That's why you do this. But it’s very nice to see reviews that confirm this. So yeah, it’s an amazing feeling,” he said.
Ferstch said he has received “a lot” of nice messages from Lucasfilm and publisher Electronic Arts, and confirmed that he intends to work on another licensed game, possibly in the Star Wars universe.
“When I started the company, I actually needed a license,” hesaid. —All I was doing was searching for intellectual property when we accidentally stumbled upon Star Wars. Starting a company and developing our own intellectual property seemed too risky. This is another problem that needs to be solved.”
“And everything we've ever done in our careers has been perceived as unoriginal intellectual property in one way or another. Be it Civilization, XCOM, Pirates or anything else. I always treated all of these games as pre-existing intellectual property that I oversaw and was responsible for. So we are pretty well prepared for this, at least I think so.”
He continued: ““And I think that for the next game we will probably also work on existing projects. We really enjoyed working with Lucasfilm. It was a real pleasure and a wonderful experience. So we'd like to continue working on Star Wars, maybe. But yes, I think the next game we work on will most likely be based on an existing project."
Star Wars Zero Company is now available on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
