Yes, you can send four astromechs into battle in Star Wars Zero Company

The Star Wars Zero Company has spent months convincing us of the importance of squad composition.
Clone soldiers. Mercenaries. Mandalorians. Users of the Force. Specialists carefully selected for the dangerous assignments Hawk received this week.
Or you can apparently take four astromechs with you.
The recently released achievement list includes a wonderfully named challenge calledEvil Signals, which is awarded for completing a mission usingfour astromechs.
No drone provides technical support. Four. At this point, Zero Company is less a secret military unit and more a highly agitated maintenance department.
Astromechs appear to be full members of the squad.
The cool thing is that Angry Beeps tells us something useful about how flexible Zero Company's squad system actually is.
We already know that the game allows for some pretty extreme thematic compositions. Bit Reactor has confirmed that players will eventually be able to assemble an entire squad of clone troopers, suggesting the game is happy to let players sacrifice traditional variety units in favor of strict adherence to a certain idea.
Four Astromech takes this philosophy much further.
The list of achievements also includes Beep Boop, which requires achieving a very high level of communication between two astromechs. This means that droids participate in the same systems of relationships that define regular Zero Company operatives, rather than existing solely as expendable combat equipment.
Our Zero Company preview already noted that the Bonds system could make personalized operatives feel like real crew members rather than interchangeable tactical ones elements.
This appears to be true even when both parties in a friendship communicate primarily through electronic swearing.
Astromechs have long been part of the gaming universe. Zero Company Pre-Order Bonus is a fully cosmetic Crystal Astromech set, with R-series droids repeatedly appearing among the options in the customization materials units.
Angry Beeps confirms that players can take this idea much further than just giving one of them a particularly fancy transparent head.
Themed squads could be one of Zero Company's best toys.
This also makes the recently introduced 20-camera lineup more interesting.
As we already covered when looking at Zero Company's mysterious Beskar mode, players need to recruit 20 operators in one campaign to get the achievement. With so much room for experimentation, repeated playthroughs can be a reason to create deliberately unusual units, rather than constantly chasing a mathematically perfect combination.
One campaign may have a disciplined unit of clone troopers.
Another option could combine Jedi, Mandalorians and mercenaries.
And, apparently, one can imagine four angry metal cylinders rolling towards the positions of the separatists, in whose photoreceptors there is a lust for murder.
This achievement does not tell us how good a squad consisting entirely of astromechs is.
It's just possible.
Honestly, that's enough.
Star Wars Zero Company will be released on August 27, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Our Complete Guide to Zero Company contains all the pre-release information revealed about operators, combat, characters and the campaign system.
