Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake - a legendary story remade for PlayStation 5

Sony has announced the creation of a remake of the game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Announcement posted on the company website.

Aspyr Media, Lucasfilm Games and SIE are remaking the classic RPG from the ground up for the modern era.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is the pinnacle of storytelling within the Star Wars Legends universe, set more than 4,000 years before the events of the original trilogy. The game presents a new story featuring new heroes and villains in an epic struggle for the fate of the galaxy. The team at Aspyr and Sony Interactive Entertainment have teamed up with Lucasfilm Games to bring you a remake of this classic Star Wars adventure. We're rebuilding one of the greatest RPGs of all time for a new generation with modern technology, features, graphics and more, while maintaining the integrity of the story and characters we love.

And it's exclusive to the PlayStation 5 console at launch.

If you're not familiar with KOTOR - as fans affectionately call it - then you're in for a real surprise. The original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was a truly groundbreaking achievement: an award-winning role-playing game of incredible scale, immersion and ambition, with an epic story to match. With a diverse cast of characters, multiple planets to explore, challenging combat, and a cinematic narrative that responds to your decisions, it's no wonder that KOTOR remains one of the most famous video games of all time.
