Open Skyview - the Star Wars Galaxy Map & Night Sky App

The website Open Skyview is an interactive three-dimensional map of the Star Wars galaxy and a mobile application for observing the “starry sky” of fictional planets. The project was created by a fan under the nickname AurebeshFiles.

The site offers two cool modes:

• Galaxy Mode:allows you to view the entire Star Wars galaxy in 3D, rotating it, zooming in and exploring the location of more than 2,000 canonical and expanded worlds (from Tatooine and Coruscant to little-known planets).
• Sky mode:allows you to “stand” on the surface of any selected planet, select a latitude and look at its night sky. If you open the site on your smartphone, you can use it as a virtual planetarium: by rotating your phone around you, you will see the stars and neighboring planets as if you were really in the Star Wars world.

On the site you can switch the time of day on the planets and speed up the rotation of the sky to see the movement of cosmic bodies. There are filters for films: you can display only those planets that appeared in specific episodes of the movie saga. Map core: The grid and regions are taken from a detailed fan project swgalaxymap.com, but the exact 3D planet offsets are generated by the authors to create a beautiful visualization.
