SWTOR is looking for the most stylish player in the galaxy

For nearly fifteen years, Star Wars: The Old Republic has offered players increasingly challenging ways to save the galaxy, defeat the ancient Sith, and argue with their comrades in the hallways.

Now Broadsword wants to know who has the best outfit.

The studio has announced the “Best Dressed in SWTOR 2026” competition, which will begin on September 17 and last until October 11. Players can submit screenshots of their favorite custom outfits, and four winners will be selected. The prize is especially good for those who spent too much time in the outfit editor: the winning outfits will be turned intoNPC fortress decorationsinspired by the featured characters.

In other words, “Space Barbie” has finally become content for the final stage of the competition.

The winners are turned into decorations.

Broadsword will select two male and two female character designs. These four outfits will be NPC decorations available from the 2026 Anniversary Retailer, and each winner will also receive an exclusive holographic version based on their own character.

It's a fitting competition for an MMO where fashion has quietly become one of the most consistent progression systems. In SWTOR, the clothing designer system was introduced back in update 3.2, and later it was expanded by adding weapons to the designer. Years later, collecting armor, dyes and cosmetic items remains an important reason to keep old rewards.

This is especially noticeable during Galactic Season 11, which saw the return of a significant number of older armor sets, dyes, and cosmetic rewards.

You can't just wear a full set.

What's interesting is that Broadsword intentionally rewards creativity rather than expensive armor.

To complete the task, you must use at least five visible pieces of equipment, but only two of them can be from the same set. This immediately eliminates the possibility of simply equipping a full set of clothes from the Cartel market and considering the task completed.

Screenshots must be at least 1920x1080, clearly show the character from head to toe, include the character's name in the interface, and use good lighting. Broadsword even recommends using brightly lit locations such as Alderaan, Tatooine, Manaan, and Onderon. Weapons should not be included in the frame, and screenshots cannot be edited using filters or third-party tools.

Players must also list all equipped items and dyes used, attach a screenshot of their character settings, and provide account, character, and server information. The jury will evaluate entries based on the following criteria:50% originality, 30% visual appeal and 20% complexity.

The competition, then, comes down not so much to having the rarest armor, but to whether it is possible to somehow convince five unrelated parts that they were always destined to live together.

The release of SWTOR 8.0: Masters of the Force takes the game to the next level, and it's a nice old-fashioned reminder that some aspects of SWTOR haven't changed much.

The galaxy may be in a state of collapse.

But first we need to decide which boots will go with the breastplate.
