As more people watch the first season of The Acolyte causing it to re-enter the charts, Empire asked showrunner Leslye Headland if she'll be back she's in for a second season if the project gets approval. “I would still like to do it! Absolutely,” she replied.

“As more people learn about this story, I think they will want to see it continue in some form.” Although one chapter of the story ended at the end of the season, Headland made it clear where she wanted to go next. “We had a lot of things we wanted to explore, including tying the lore into the sequels,” she hints. "Going deeper into who exactly Manny's character is, his connection to [Jedi Master] Vernestra, his connection to Plagueis, and also his connection to other things established in the sequels."

For now, fans can binge-watch the first season without waiting a week between episodes, which is exactly what Headland recommends. “It was meant to be,” she says. And in a galaxy full of possibilities, it may be time for the return of the Acolyte . “WithStar Warseverything changes,” she says. “There was a very negative reaction to [the prequels], especially from a certain generation. And here we are, 25 years later, Hayden [Christensen] at Celebration." Trust the Force.
