Star Wars sequels won't be removed from canon, despite rumors

The Star Wars fan community is once again experiencing “outrage in the Force.” Fans began asking Lucasfilm to remove sequels from the canon and instead make film adaptations of Timothy Zahn's Thrawn novels.
YouTube bloggers who talk about the franchise quickly noticed this opportunity. Geeks and Gamers claimed that "sources" told them that Ahsoka's second season (or later) would cancel the events of episodes 7-9.
YouTubers quickly realized that modern social media algorithms respond more to anger and rage. Sometimes it reaches an almost comical level. That is why the hate of the series "Acolyte"gained a lot of views.
We've heard this Star Wars story before
The idea of a “canon reboot” is not new. Disney actually did something similar after purchasing Lucasfilm in 2012. The company erased the old expanded universe ofStar Warsand called it “Legends.” At the same time, plans for a prequel trilogy by George Lucas were abandoned.
However, Darth Maul later returned inStar Wars Rebelsand received a solo series. We even saw the return of Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor. Ahsoka is more important than ever. Instead of erasing the prequels, Disney fulfilled them.
We have now come to the idea that Disney will abandon the events of the sequels rather than the prequels. In fact, we already know that the studio is moving in the opposite direction.
Star Wars fixes problems with sequel trilogy

The sequels have certainly caused mixed reactions. But if you look at the numbers, it is impossible to say that they were a failure. The Force Awakenswas a cinematic event, grossing over $2 billion worldwide. It is still one of the ten highest-grossing films of all time.
Of course, Palpatine's return remains one of the worst plot twists in Star Wars. However, many fans are happy with everything.Even Rey is popular, despite social media claims to the contrary. Heroine cosplay is one of the most popular.
Star Wars hasn't avoided sequels, but it has spent the last seven years trying to improve their role in the timeline. The novels and TV series try to fill in some of the plot holes by making Kylo Ren an even more interesting antagonist. The series also continue to work in this direction. InThe Bad Batchthere is a setup for sequels, as the plot centers on Project Necromancer - cloning experiments. This "somehow" preceded Palpatine's return.
Dave Filoni is not giving up on the sequel trilogy, which is also noticeable inThe Mandalorian and Grog. He and the rest of the team are trying to make them an important part of the universe.
