Some of the greatest Star Wars stories of all time have come in the form of novels and comics, so any announcements or announcements about upcoming literary projects are of great interest to fans of a galaxy far, far away.
Lucasfilm Publishing hosted a panel discussion today at Comic-Con 2026 in San Diego, where creators shared behind-the-scenes details, stories from across time and space, and a number of exciting announcements hinting at the exciting future of Star Wars books and comics.

Star Wars: Twin Crossroads
A new novel will be released next year, focusing on Luke and Leia after the events of Return of the Jedi, as they try to deal with the complex legacy of their parents. Written by Beth Revis and published by Random House Worlds.
The publisher's blurb for Star Wars Crossroads reads as follows: “After the events of Return of the Jedi, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa learn the ways of the Jedi together. The siblings must confront the legacies of their biological parents, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, as well as their own divergent futures in the Force."

During this period of respite from battle, the twins strengthen their connection to the Force and their own bond, bearing responsibility for continuing the legacy of the Jedi Order. But each of them also carries a burden that they find difficult to share with the other.Luke is happy to see his sister's progress, but doubts his own learning abilities as she still has so much to discover and learn. Leia, meanwhile, is determined to master these new skills, but she struggles with both what it means to dedicate her entire life to the service of the Force and the realization that she is Darth Vader's daughter.
Despite their doubts, Luke and Leia volunteer for an urgent secret New Republic mission to infiltrate the center of Imperial power: Coruscant.
Their quest begins at the Imperial Palace, once the Jedi Temple, where they gain new insight into the former Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic. The mission will prove far more life-changing than they could have imagined, as they discover the legacy left by their biological parents on a planet where some still hold out hope.And although there is little certainty, Luke and Leia's faith in each other will help them find the path they will ultimately take.
Star Wars: Crossroadswill premiere on April 6, 2027.
Star Wars: A Celebration
Next year, Lucasfilm will be working hard to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Wars. As part of the celebrations, DK Publishing will release a new book that will be an essential guide for fans to the history of a galaxy far, far away.

Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium
One of the most unexpected announcements at the Lucasfilm Publishing presentation was a new series of Indiana Jones comics from Marvel Comics, writer Jason Aaron and artist Aaron Kuder.
