The approximate release date for the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has been revealed

[Saturday, July 25, 2026]

It's hard to believe that it's been almost five years since we first and last saw footage of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake.

The project seemed to disappear without a trace, especially after it moved from Aspyr to Saber Interactive in 2022. Add to this a host of development issues, and many fans believed the game was cancelled. However, fears were dispelled in March 2025, when Saber Interactive creative director Tim Willits made a new message.

More than a year later, we received another update. According to Saber's new director of business development, Steve Ellison, the release of Knights of the Old Republic Remake is scheduled for 2028.

We're gearing up for a more active self-publishing business, and I'm here to organize a team to prepare a line of games that will be released in 2028. Among them are Space Marine, John Wick, hopefully a remake of KOTOR and several projects that have not yet been announced.

Why is this not confirmation

However, the source of information is Reddit. Therefore, this news should be taken with caution, since there has been no official announcement. However, given the planned release in 2028, news should not be expected any time soon.

As you can imagine, following the latest update, fans ofKOTORhave reacted positively to the news. Perhaps the remake will see the light of day in the near future.
