The original concept of “Andor” from the author of “Zootopia” and “Moana” has been revealed

A new book from Abrams Books offers fans ofStar Warsa behind-the-scenes look at the creation of one of the franchise's best series,Andora.

In addition to never-before-seen art, the original idea for the show was revealed. Initially, Jared Bush, who was responsible for Disney cartoons (Moana, Zootopia), worked on the project.

The nascent Resistance suffers a crushing defeat after an Imperial spy infiltrated into its ranks helps destroy several rebel bases. Young intelligence officer Cassian Andor is one of the few survivors, but he himself becomes the main suspect - he is falsely accused of being the traitor.

Finding himself an outlaw, Cassian realizes that the only way to clear his name and find the real spy is to infiltrate the Imperial planet, where the key to revealing the identity of the traitor is hidden.

The series was eventually taken over by Tony Gilroy, who worked on Rogue One. The original idea has been reworked.

Star Wars needs more Andors

Given the success of Gilroy's series, fans of the franchise want more projects like this. Andorproved thatStar Warsis ready to grow with audiences by telling adult stories.

However, Lucasfilm may have other plans. The studio is rumored to be planning to move in a different direction. Despite the box office failure of the filmThe Mandalorian and Grogu, future projects will be dedicated specifically to the time period.
