Marvel Comics and Disney for the company continue to dig hard into a galaxy far, far away in the second issue of the comic book Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Echoes of the Empire. It was written by Ethan Sachs (Star Wars: Bounty Hunters, Old Man Hawkeye), and was drawn by Hetro Morales (Sheena: Queen of the Jungle) and Roy Mercado (Heavy Metal Magazine).

The release description is as follows:

Under the onslaught of Darth Vader!

Princess Leia, Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C-3PO race to find an informant at Black Spire Outpost! Will they be able to escape the trap set by Vader himself?

Quote from press release

As we can see, in this series the maximum pressure is placed on classic fan service. We collected almost all the iconic characters at once.

The story continues from the first issue. Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Chewbacca arrived on the planet Batuu in search of an ancient artifact that is still strongly connected to the Force. Unfortunately, Darth Vader also came for the same artifact and finally snatched it from the hands of the rebels. Only now the residents of the outpost decided to come out and confront him with the whole crowd. It looks like this will be their last mistake.

The Black Spire previously appeared only in various additional and collectible content, and then Solo: A Star Wars Story was released. Stories" 2018. And it was in this film, which few people liked, that the settlements on Batuu were shown. So to speak, they have already officially entered the canon through the film. From now on, the “spire” becomes an integral part of the universe. Now in the comics, it seems, they decided to clean it up properly.

The so-called “edge of the galaxy,” where this outpost is located, is very little shown and explored in films. It is mainly known for its theme parks. True, the entire history associated with this place fits into about a year. Marvel Comics decided to dive into such a small gap. It looks like they will compact the events very tightly, almost all the heroes have already been shoved there, or there will be more.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Echoes of the Empire #2 is out now. Covers for it were drawn by E.M. Gist, Leinil Francis Yu paired with Romulo Fajardo Jr., Paolo Villanelli with Arif Prianto, and Pete Woods.
