"A Visual Guide to Star Wars: The Mandalorian" covers the entire series

[Friday, May 1, 2026]

We've been waiting a long time, but a visual guide to The Mandalorian has finally arrived, allowing you to delve into the worlds, droids, aliens, spaceships and everything that makes the series such a fun adventure in a galaxy far, far away. The guide was released in the UK so we were able to get it and review it before it releases in the US and other countries on May 26th. The guide covers all three seasons of the Disney Plus series and even includes a preview of the upcoming film The Mandalorian and Grogu.

There's a lot of information in this guide, and at 232 pages, it's one of the longest reference books on my shelf. The guide looks at the series chronologically, covering key details of each episode, with double-page spreads highlighting the key characters Dean meets along his journey. For example, Grieve Hag and Armorer, as well as profiles for each planet he lands on, and even some of the creatures he encounters, including the mighty Mythosaur, get their own profiles.

The guide also features a huge map of the galaxy, split into two spreads, and stunning illustrations of Dean's spaceships, the Razor Crest and his N-1 starfighter.Fans may also want to scroll to the end to see a few pages fromThe Mandalorian andGroguthat give a little hint at how Din will hunt for the remnants of the Empire, as well as a look at some of the Empire and New Republic characters and droids from the film.

This could go deeper.

There is a lot of information in this guide, and it shows. In addition, he has a great responsibility on the part of fans of lore books, because the announcement of a guide to seasons 1 and 2 was canceled without explanation. But now, with three seasons to cover, some characters and details feel left out—for example, I would have expected to see a section on characters from the Nevarro bounty hunter's guild—in the effort to cover so much story content. I can't help but remember the earlier guides for Rogue Oneand The Acolytewhere minor characters were given names, races, and backstories, while characters like the Client and Frog Woman still remain nameless.

And while  The Book of Boba Fettgets some coverage, the guide is limited solely to the scenes involving the capture of Din Djarin. It makes sense, but it also feels like the final nail in the coffin for fans hoping to learn more about the series.

Final verdict

The cover of The Mandalorian Visual Guide features Din Djarin with Grogu reflected in his visor.

Despite some shortcomings, this is a good book and definitely worth picking up if you're a fan of the series. This is a great opportunity to meet characters, creatures and more. It contains a lot of information about Mandalorian culture: descriptions of the characters, armor and history of the various clans found throughout history, as well as a lot of fun trivia that expands the series and makes it great for lore fans.
