Lucasfilm co-president and chief creative officer Dave Filoni and The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau had at least one Zoom call with Gina Carano following the settlement of her lawsuit against Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company.
The Mandalorian star was fired after some of her social media posts sparked controversy in 2021. Since the dispute was settled by mutual agreement in 2025, there has been no official announcement about Carano's possible return to the role of Cara Dune in The Mandalorian. In a recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show on
&t=1s">YouTube, the actress revealed that after the settlement, she spoke with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, saying...
“I had already talked to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau—they're really great people—after we settled the lawsuit, we had a Zoom call. It was very nice. Dave Filoni becomes CEO of Lucasfilm. And it’s as if we didn’t miss anything. And Jon Favreau was very funny. He got on Zoom and asked, “So where are we?” But we haven’t communicated for a long time... They have been in this world for a very long time.”
Nothing else was said, although the conversation appeared to be friendly, and it remains to be seen whether Carano will return to Star Wars in the future. Would you like to see Carano return as Cara Dune? Share your thoughts on our social networks.
