Concept art for the remake of Star Wars: KOTOR showed a classic location
The illustration was found on the website of a concept artist who worked at Aspyr until 2021.
It depicts the treetops of Kashyyyk, the Wookiee home planet that can be visited in the first game. It becomes clear that the team intended to create a version of Kashyyyk with much more detail and vegetation. Below you can compare this concept art with the version of the location from the 2003 game.
Remake
Original
The game was originally developed by studio Aspyr and wasannouncedthat the game would be a PlayStation exclusive, but according to well-known insider Jeff Grubb, Sony ultimately distanced itself from the project. As a result, the first version of the project created by Aspyr was canceled, and development was transferred to Saber Interactive.
The latest information about the status of the project appeared in April last year. At the time, Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karchstated that the game was “alive and well.” However, it is still unknown how much of Aspyr's work was retained. This factor could significantly affect how soon we see the remake, if it comes out at all.
