Despite the weak start and the recognizedUbisoftcommercial failure, the space action gameStar Wars: Outlawshas loyal fans who are not ready to say goodbye to the project. petitioncalling not to abandon the development of the sequel, despite rumors about the cancellation of the sequel.

Although Ubisoft has not officially announced the second part or commented on its fate, rumors about the closure of the project intensified after the publisher blamed the game for weak sales. The company attributes the failure to a decline in interest in the Star Wars universe itself, but fans believe that the issue is a hasty release and insufficient refinement.

The petition's organizers point out that Outlaws was a victim of an early launch, rather than a general brand crisis. They cite examples of games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man’s Sky, which, after a difficult start, found a second wind and earned recognition. According to the initiative's authors, the Outlaws deserve at least a shot at a “second chance.”

However, not all players share the enthusiasm. Some agree that Ubisoft is unlikely to spend years working to improve Outlaws, as CD Projekt RED or Hello Games did, because the French publisher rarely engages in long-term rehabilitation of projects that do not generate stable income.

It is interesting that despite all the skepticism towards the game, the average score for Outlaws on Metacritic is 72 points out of 100, which cannot be called a failure by industry standards. However, this was not enough to justify the cost of a large Lucasfilm license.

At the time of publication, almost 750 people had signed the petition, and the number continues to grow. The only question is whether Ubisoft will listen to its fans - or whether it will consign Outlaws to the archives along with other unrealized Star Wars ideas.
