Star Wars Anakin Could Have a Different Look for Darth Vader - and He Resembles Kylo Ren
“You will become a Great Sith. From now on you will bear the name Darth Vader." These are the words of the treacherous Palpatine, who lured Jedi Anakin Skywalker to his side inStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.
Seduced by the Dark Side in search of the Power to stop death and save his pregnant wife Padmé, Lord Vader carries out his master's will. He first attacks the Jedi Temple on Coruscant with a legion of clone troopers, and then destroys the leaders of the Separatist coalition on the volcanic planet Mustafar.
On this blood-red planet, Vader and his former master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, meet in a fateful battle. Having captured the high ground, the Jedi cripples his padawan, cutting off limbs with one crushing swing of his lightsaber. As the Chosen One writhes in agony, burning alive, consumed by rage and hatred, Obi-Wan leaves his companion to die on the edge of the lava pit.

The charred figure is taken to a medical capsule and then to a rehabilitation center, dressed in black armor. After the operation is completed, Darth Sidious's tormented apprentice undergoes one final transformation, and Darth Vader rises once again.
The result is the prototypical costume of Darth Vader from the original Star Wars trilogy, but it is the dark Jedi look of the fallen Anakin that has undergone several changes. As revealed in the bookThe Art of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, concept art for Skywalker hinted at Skywalker's future fate. As artist Ian McCaig noted:
We wanted to bring Anakin closer to Darth Vader. Even the shape of his hair was meant to be reminiscent of Vader's black helmet.

Darth Vader could resemble Kylo Ren

When the hooded Anakin arrives on Mustafar to kill Neimoidian Viceroy Nute Gunray and other Separatist leaders, he wears simple black robes. But in one version, which could be mistaken for a future version of Kylo Ren, Vader could be wearing a more form-fitting suit with a flowing cape. Concept artist Sang Joon Lee explained:
George wanted to see Anakin in a suit similar to the one Luke wears inReturn of the Jedi.

Whereas inAttack of the ClonesAnakin wore shorter hair with a Padawan braid, Anakin inRevenge of the Sith (which takes place three years later) has shoulder-length hair. George Lucas "wanted Anakin to be more like Qui-Gon Jinn to show that he went beyond what Obi-Wan taught him, hence the long hair," McCaig notes.
Darth Vader is expected to return next in the second season of Ahsoka.
