Diego Luna and company surprised audiences at Star Wars Celebration by showing them an early look at the first episode.

Rebellions may be built on hope, but popular rebel television series are built on hype.

Creator and showrunner of the Star Wars series. StoriesTony Gilroy, stars Diego Luna, Genevieve O'Reilly, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Alan Tudyk, and producer SanneWolenberg more than showed off their skills at the Star Wars Celebration panel on Saturday morning.

They did not come empty-handed, bringing with them the first episode of the second season, which fans were able to see three days before the premiere “Andora" on Disney+, which took place April 22.

“Thank you so much for this welcome, this love, this energy, it’s so special,” Luna told the crowd, adding a message in Spanish for the legion of Latino fans watching on the Celebration Stage and around the planet via the Star Wars livestream.

“One hundred and twenty-five countries are represented in this room... it’s great to be a part of this.”

The revelations at the panel come just two days before the first three episodes debut on Disney+. Season 2 picks up the theme of the funeral of Maarva Andor in Ferrix, with Cassian already deeply involved in the nascent rebellion. Imperial Senator and future leader of the Rebel AllianceMon Mothma also continues his own journey as a hero, at great personal cost.

“This is so big in every possible way. We're getting closer to Rogue One so everything has such a big meaning, it's so emotionally charged,” Luna said.

The second season of Andor will unfold over four three-episode arcs that will take the spy-turned-rebel leader straight back to the events that introduced the character to fans in the 2016 filmRogue One. Star wars. Stories".

Gilroy emphasized that while the second season of Andor is about the main character, the show is a "chorus" that tells the full stories of supporting characters.

“We care about these characters as much as you do, and we will tell every story in its entirety,” Gilroy said. “We are completely immersed in them.”

O'Reilly revealed that fans will be able to see Mon Mothma's home planet of Chandrila as the wedding looms. But this is only the beginning of the arc of the future leader of the Rebellion.

"Mon Mothma in particular is really working under the supervision of the Empire, and we're going to some dark places this season," O'Reilly said. “She must come out of the shadows and risk everything to tell a little truth.”

Arjona teased that Bix struggles in exile from Ferrix while she recovers from torture at the hands of the Empire. But on the other hand, love is in the air for her and Cassian.

“We get a glimpse of this beautiful relationship that is just beginning to form,” Arjona said. "We really see these two characters coming together."

And that's not the only relationship fans can expect from Season 2.

“Cyril starts this season feeling pretty good. He's got a little promotion, he's got new connections, he's on a new planet, he's interacting with new people, he's demonstrating what little power he has in his own little pocket of the Empire,” Soller said.

"And he's trying to fake it," he said, pointing to Gough, who plays Inspector Imperial Security Bureau Miro.

“Everything went just fine,” Gough said calmly.

“They just stared a lot,” Soller retorted.

Both actors then reenacted their intense looks on stage, delighting the Celebration crowd.

The season will also feature the fan-favorite droid K-2SO, played by Tudyk. He returns to the exciting role that made him famous in Rogue One.

“I've been waiting for a while to get my own spin-off, K2 Fast K2 Furious,” Tudyk joked after a lengthy standing ovation from the audience. “We will see our two characters meet and the birth of K-2SO will be shown this season. It was very exciting to be born.”

“I laughed when I saw him again in that very tight suit,” Luna said.

Wahlberg listed some staggering numbers to show how big the second season will be: 140 sets on seven stages, two locations, 24 different locations, 700 costumes, 156 creatures, 30 droids and 4,100 visual effects shots.

Even before the panel began, the energy inside the Celebration Stage was palpable. One hundred and twenty fans, dressed in prisoner uniforms from the first season, ran through the Makuhari Messe hall, chanting: “One way out!”

After revelations from the actors and producers, Luna announced a gift to all fans present.

“London was the first convention we went to, and I realized that I shouldn’t go empty-handed,” Luna said. “And this one is very special because it is not only the second season, but also the last.So this convention means a lot to us and we wanted to bring something very special.”

With those words came the biggest reveal yet: the cast and crew shared the episode and a sneak peek at the rest of the season.
