After the release of the filmStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. SunriseThe franchise developed on the small screen, delighting (and not so much) fans with new series.

One of the most anticipated shows was Obi-Wan Kenobi, which featured Ewan McGregor reprising his role from the prequel trilogy. Although the project was met with mixed reactions, fans were hoping for a second season that could correct the problems of the first. However, the studio does not intend to continue the story.

Insider Jeff Snyder reported on The Insneider that the second a season ofObi-Wan Kenobiis “not planned.” This update came right after rumors that Lucasfilm had decided to return to the hero.

The premiere took place in 2022. The series serves as a link between the prequels and the original trilogy. The events take place years afterRevenge of the Sithand focus on a Jedi's mission to save the young Princess Leia.

Lucasfilm did not plan a Kenobi season 2

The studio has always positioned the project as a mini-series. Even the Blu-ray edition box says “the complete series” and not “the first season.” But McGregor is hopeful he'll get a chance to return to the franchise again. In particular, the actor would be interested in exploring Obi-Wan during the Clone Wars.

Since Lucasfilm decided to return to films, new series in the universe are in question. Currently, the only game show in development is the second season ofAhsoka. It seems the focus has shifted to big screens.

Perhaps Kenobi will return in animated form. An animated series about Darth Maul is currently in development, which will fulfill George Lucas' plans for sequels.
