WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the second season of Andor
Season 2 Episodes 1-3
A full-scale, practical ship was built for the TIE Avenger fighter that Cassian stole in Episode 1. This is unusual for TIE fighters in the Star Wars films, which typically do not have a full, true set of exteriors and interiors like the TIE Avenger in Andor.

TIE Avenger was inspired by Kylo Ren's TIE Whisper fromThe Rise of Skywalker. Sunrise. The TIE Avenger first appeared in the 1994 LucasArts gameTIE Fighter. In Legends, Grand Admiral Thrawn contributed to the creation of the TIE Avenger.

The password used by Cassian and Imperial defector Nya at the beginning of Episode 1 is "Kafrena". The Ring of Kafrena is where Cassian's story begins in Rogue One.

At the beginning of the episode, Cassian tells Nya, "You're coming home to yourself." In Rogue OneCassian says to Jyn, “Welcome home.”

Some of the soldiers chasing Cassian are Range Troopers. This type of soldier first appeared inSolo: A Star Wars Story

The ships that were discovered by Cassian at the Imperial testing facility are prototypes of the TIE Advanced. These ships first appeared in the episode "Empire Day" of Season 1 of Star Wars Rebels

The planet where Bix, Brasso, Wilmon and B2 are hiding is Mina Rau, the new Star Wars planet. Based on promotional footage, some fans have speculated that the location is actually Lothal, Ezra Bridger's home in Star Wars Rebels

To create agriculture on Mina Rau, the team of Andor actually planted ancient rye grain in a huge field in Oxfordshire. After the SAG-AFTRA strike began in the summer of 2023, the crew had to stop filming and harvest the crops, placing them in polystyrene sheets so that they could later reconstruct the exterior locations on the 007 stage at Pinewood.
On Mina Rau, Bix can be seen working on an evaporator similar to the one on the Lars farm on Tatooine.
When designing Mothma Manor, the designers were inspired by historical Japanese stone castles and the minimalist, nature-infused architecture of Scandinavia.

Mon Mothma's assistant is named Erskine Semaj. Semaj first appeared in the episode "Secret Cargo" of the TV series Star Wars Rebels.

This is the second time that Andor refers to the Rakatan invasion (after Luten mentioned it in episode 4 of season 1 ofAndor ).In Legends, the Rakatan were the first to develop hyperspace technology and create the Infinite Empire. The Rakatan were eventually overthrown by the Jedi. In season 2 ofAndorathe stolen temple figure that Luten Rael represents for Davo Skuldun was blown up during the Rakatan invasion. Dialogue confirms that the invasion occurred 25,000 years earlier, coinciding with the founding of the Jedi Order.

The food and cutlery at Lady Mothma's wedding are similar to those seen at Galaxy's Edge.
The Imperial Cruiser on Mina Rau is a modified version of the Gozanti cruiser digital model created for The Mandalorian Season 2, Chapter 11: "The Heiress."

The exterior view of Krennic's secret meeting is actually a hand-painted background with some digital additions from ILM.

During Krennic's meeting, the Imperials talk about Gorman, a planet of great importance to the Empire and theStar Wars canon. The Gorman Massacre is a key event in the history ofStar Warsin which Mon Mothma finally publicly confronts Palpatine. The Gorman massacre will be shown later in the season.
The “Ministry of Education” of the empire has the same name as the “Ministry of Propaganda and Public Enlightenment” of Nazi Germany.
Krennic says Palpatine seeks "stable, unfettered power."Of course, Palpatine makes a triumphant statement about "unlimited power" inRevenge of the Sithwhen he kills Mace Windu.

In the new house of Bix and others, there is a drawing of Maarva Andor hanging on the wall.

The planet on which Cassian was captured is Yavin 4. This is revealed at the end of Episode 2 when structures first seen in A New Hope and later shown in Rogue One become apparent. Eventually, Yavin 4 becomes home to the Rebel Alliance.

Kleia's radio in the Luten Gallery was inspired by a telephone operator's switchboard.
Leida Mothma's wedding dress took costume designer Michael Wilkinson and his team six months to create. It includes dozens of pattern pieces sewn together with hand finishing and beading.

Wedding dance is a remix of the track “Niamos!” from season 1. This scene was one of the last ones filmed for Season 2 ofAndorin January 2024.

Season 2 Episodes 4-6
Stagecraft, also known as The Volume, was used to depict the outside world of Cassian and Bix's hideout on Coruscant. This is the same technology used in a number of Star Wars shows, including The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Sprinklers were placed between the LED screens and windows to simulate a rainy day.

The Niki-Bon travel agency on Coruscant was modeled after airline and travel agent graphics from the 1970s.

The Gorman Front, a nascent resistance group on Gorman, was inspired by the French Resistance during World War II. In this regard, Tony Gilroy sought to cast primarily French actors for the roles of Gorman residents.
Saw Gerrera first mentioned the Gorman front in the first season of the series Andor.
Ghorman plaza was a huge 500-foot outdoor space built on location by Pinewood Studios. This is the same location where Jakku Village and Maz's Castle were filmed inThe Force Awakens, the city of Jedha in Rogue Oneand the Kessel Landing Pad in Han Solo.

Two written Gorman languages were created for the series - Gorle (or high mountain) and Dixian (low mountain). They were named after graphic designers Ellie McKee and Lauren Dix, respectively.
The Tarkin Massacre is mentioned in these new episodes. In Legends, the Gorman Massacre involved Grand Moff Tarkin's ship landing on a crowd of protesters, resulting in the deaths of many innocent Highlanders. However, Andor establishes that Tarkin's massacre was an isolated tragedy that occurred shortly after the events of Revenge of the Sith. A memorial in downtown Palmo is dedicated to those killed in the Tarkine Massacre.Establishing the Tarkin Massacre as opposed to the Gorman Massacre means that the poor people of Gorman suffered not one, but two massacres at the hands of the Empire in the space of less than two decades.
Richard Sammel plays Carro Rulanz. Sammel is a German actor, best known for his role as Thomas Eichhorst in the film The Strain.

On the monitor you can see Imperial officers on Gorman watching the podracer races.
The conspiracy theory that the ISB is running a shadow government without Palpatine's knowledge originated from the novelization of the original Star Wars by Alan Dean Foster.
The ISB Operations Room was filmed at the OKX Thought Leadership Center at the McLaren Group Technology Center in Woking, England. This is the same location where the Coruscant transport hub was filmed in the first season.

To accurately depict the Senate District on Coruscant, ILM visual effects supervisor Mohen Leo superimposed the filming location in Valencia, Spain onto the prequels' mock-up. This ensured that the Senate District in Andor was physically consistent with what was previously established.

Saw Gerrera and his Partisans are based on the planet D'Qar. This planet first appeared inThe Force Awakensas the home of the Resistance.

Filming location: Co Base was once an airfield and RAF base.
Saw Gerrera and Vilmon Paak inhale Rhydonium, a volatile starship fuel. Rhydonium first appeared in the Clone Wars episode "Missing" and may explain the extent of Saw's breathing difficulties.
The partisans eat the prepared food.It is a dog-like creature that appears on Tatooine alongside the Tusken Raiders in projects such asAttack of the ClonesandThe Mandalorian.Parts of the array's props were actually edible on set.

Sam Witwer makes a cameo appearance! As Cassian prepares to leave Coruscant for Gorman, he chats with a man through an earpiece. The man is voiced by Sam Witwer, who recently appeared at Star Wars Celebration Japan to announce the new animated seriesMaul: Shadow Lord
An urn with a small sculpture of Torgruta can be seen in Luten's shop. Ahsoka Tano and Shaak Ti are known members of the Torgruta species.
The escape tunnel after the truck robbery on Gorman was filmed on a Pinewood Studio tank. This is the same location where Rey and Kylo fought each other inThe Rise of Skywalker. Sunrise."

Bail Organa appears in the second season ofAndor. In the prequels Rogue One and Obi-Wan Kenobi, the character was played by Jimmy Smits, and now Bale is played by Benjamin Bratt.

In a conversation between Mon, Perrin and Bail, Bail's wife Breha is mentioned. Breha appeared in Revenge of the Sith and Obi-Wan Kenobi
Episode 6 ends with Bix taking revenge on the villainous Dr. Gorst. Bix tells Gorst, "This will seem like an eternity." Gorst said this phrase to Bix in the first season, right before he began torturing her.

Season 2, Episodes 7-9
The hotel employee tells Cassian, "Rebellions are built on hope."This is a famous line repeated by Jyn and Cassian in Rogue One.

About 350 extras were involved in the Gorman massacre scene. They were all dressed by Michael Wilkinson's costume department.

An early version of the script for the second season of Andor had a different introduction for K-2SO. This early version featured K-2SO breaking through a ship in a scene that was reminiscent of theAlienandPredator franchises.
The news anchors on Ghorman use camera droids, which first appeared in the prequels. Andor marks the first time these camera droids have been brought to life in practice rather than through digital effect.

The call sign "Shadow Six" can be heard at the beginning of episode 7. In canon, this call sign appeared in the episode "Shadow of Sinister" of the animated series "The Clone Wars".
Major Partagaz mentions Director Krennic's laboratory on Ida. This is where Galen Erso was forced to work on the Death Star and where he meets his end in Rogue One.
The rifle Cassian uses against Gorman is a BlasTech A280-CFE convertible heavy blaster pistol, the same blaster he used to nearly kill Galen Erso in Rogue One.

The Empire uses KX-series droids to facilitate genocide on Gorman. The Empire also used KX-series droids to commit genocide on Mandalore, as shown in flashbacks in The Book of Boba Fett.

The eighth episode of the second season retcons the one-shot comicCassian and K-2O#1, reimagining how the pair meet.
Senator Gorman says: “Today my people, tomorrow yours.” The scene then immediately cuts to Bail Organa, foreshadowing Alderaan's ultimate fate.
Mon Mothma's speech deviates from canon established in the episode "Secret Cargo" of the Star Wars Rebels series. In this episode, Mon gives a speech on board the ship, which is broadcast throughout the galaxy. Tony Gilroy explained his approach to reworking canon here. “We’re stealing the canon,” Gilroy said. “In canon, she is rescued by Gold Squadron, and the speech they gave in the cartoon, which was the canon show, [is on that ship]. And [Dan Gilroy] was like, 'Should I stick to this damn speech?'" What they came up with was Mon first giving a speech in the Senate chamber and then giving another speech broadcast throughout the galaxy as she made her way safely to Yavin. “In a very clever way, we're minimizing what they did inStar Wars Rebelsbut keeping it consistent,” Gilroy said. "We're just saying that you don't really know the full story of what happened."

Originally, Mon Mothma's entire speech was not supposed to be shown in full in episode 9. Instead, the episode would have switched between Mon's speech and a series of action scenes including Bail's corrupt Gold Squadron, Cassian entering the Senate building, and the ISB desperately trying to stop Mon. At Genevieve O'Reilly's request, Tony Gilroy wrote the entire speech for Mon anyway.Gilroy ultimately decided to include Mon's entire speech in the show.
The music played during Mon's speech is the same music played during Maarva's death speech in the Season 1 finale.
Mon's removal of the Senate robe and donning of Cassian's jacket symbolizes her transition from senator to rebel. The team didn't specify where this moment would occur, initially thinking it might happen when her capsule was removed.

The Force healer on Yavin calls Cassian "the messenger". This coincides with his subsequent fate: before his death, Cassian delivers a message to the Rebel Alliance about plans for the Death Star.

General Draven returns in the second season of Andor. The character, played by Alistair Petrie, first appeared in the Rogue One
Draven says that there is a ship waiting to accompany Mon Mothma. The ship he's talking about is the Ghost fromStar Wars Rebels
Vel mentions that they "don't run around Aldani anymore" to Bixu. This is a reference to the Aldani heist from Season 1.
Episode 9 marks the first time in canon that Cassian is named Captain Andor. This is how Mon introduces him to Jean in Rogue One.
Melshi returns in episode 9. His blaster, which Vel recognizes, was the one used during the Aldani heist.
Season 2 Episodes 10-12
The second season of Andor consists of 4,100 visual effects shots, which is an increase from the 3,800 shots used in the first season.
Lonnie's intelligence includes information about Galen Erso and the laboratory on Idu.Galen Erso is the scientist behind the Death Star, played by Mads Mikkelsen in Rogue One
The meeting between Luten and Lonnie was filmed under the bridge between the Queen's Palace of Arts and the Sophia and Hemisferica buildings in Valencia, Spain.

Luten's murder of Lonny to silence him is reminiscent of Cassian's murder of Tyvic at the beginning of Rogue One.
Touka the cat appears in the scene with Luten and Lonnie. This animal first appeared inThe Clone Warsand has since appeared inRebels,The MandalorianandAhsoka. Touka the cat in episode 10 has a collar that says "Pix", which is the name of one of the visual effects artists' recently deceased dog.
One of the many artifacts in Luten's gallery is a Twi'lek Kalikori. This relic first appeared in the film Star Wars Rebelsand was part of Thrawn's collection.
Next to the Nubian headdresses in Luten's gallery there appears to be a Gungan skull.
Luthen shows Dedra a rare Nautolan bloodletter. The most famous Nautolan is Jedi Master Kit Fisto from the prequels.

The hospital where Luten Rael is being treated is called The Lina Roh Medical Center.Lina Ro was Chancellor of the Republic during the High Republic era and appears in many stories about the High Republic.

Lina Soh Hospital was modeled after the Lloyd's building in London's financial district, which is known for its distinctive, repeating layout of identical floors.

In the opening flashback, Clay and Luten are introduced as Mudtroopers. These soldiers first appeared inSolo: A Star Wars Story
In a flashback, Luten and Kleya sell the Devaronian Victory Necklace. Devaronians are devil-like creatures who first appeared inA New Hope. Famous Devonians include Vizago in Rebels and Burg in The Mandalorian.
Some of Luten and Kley's flashbacks were filmed on location in Spain. The bright color palette of Valencia Market was used to contrast with the gray palette of the hospital.
Luten and Cleya are sitting in a cafe on Naboo. This planet first appeared in The Phantom Menace and features prominently throughout theStar Warssaga.

Hever Castle in Kent, England was used for filming Naboo. It was here that George Lucas filmed an ultimately deleted scene inThe Phantom Menacein which Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, along with Jar Jar, enter the grounds of the royal palace of Theed after escaping from a dangerous waterfall.
The area around Lake Como in Italy, which was previously photographed in August 2001 for the filmAttack of the Cloneswas used as background shots for the film Naboo.
One of the species seen in the hospital was previously seen on Niamos in Season 1. Cm.below.

Series creator Tony Gilroy describes Cassian's home on Yavin as a "brother's house."
The game that Cassian, Melshi and K-2 play is called Rianza and was developed by a team of artists/graphics.
K-2 reports that he was at a parade on Coruscant, which was attended by the Emperor. It was likely a celebration of Empire Day, a galactic holiday marking the beginning of the Galactic Empire and the end of the Clone Wars.
Mon Mothma and Bail Organa try to convince Saw Gerrera using a hologram, just as they do at the end of the novel "Reign of the Empire: The Mask fear".
For the second season of Andor, hundreds of Rebel costumes were created, carefully designed based on patterns and designs from Rogue One.

Various characters from Rogue One appear in the final episodes of Andor. One of the lesser known characters is Pao (aka Paodok'Draba'Takat Sap'De'Rekti Nik'Linke'Ti' Ki'Vef'Nik'NeSevef'Li'Kek). The character with (we think?) the longest name in the history of Star Warsappears on Yavin in Season 2.

Another returning face from Rogue One is Admiral Raddus. The fan-favorite character is once again voiced by Star Wars veteran Stephen Stanton. To bring Raddus to life in Andor, Neil Scanlan's creature department had to completely redesign Raddus.
Senators Jebel and Pamlo from Rogue One also return in the second season of Andor.Pamlo previously appeared in The Bad Batch.

One of the characters from Rogue One who does not appear is General Merrick, although he is referenced by Raddus.
Before heading into the Ring of Kafrena, Cassian and Vel drink in honor of those who died. Among them: Luten, Gorn, Nemik, Taramin, Sintha, Gormans, Ferrix, Maarva and Dhani. Gorn and Taramin were two of the men with whom Cassian and Vel carried out the Aldani robbery.
Nemik's manifesto spreads throughout the galaxy, leading to Partagaz's suicide. Nemik's Manifesto was introduced in the Aldani arc in Season 1.

At the end of the show, Dedra Miro ends up in a Narkna 5-style prison. Tony Gilroy confirmed that this is not a Narkna 5, but rather another Narkna that is a "female version" of the prison.

At the end of Episode 12, Cassian wears the same jacket he wore at the beginning of Rogue One during his mission to the Ring of Kafrena.

At the end of the second season, Saw Gerrera is shown looking over Jedha City. This is where Saw appears in Rogue One (and where he ultimately dies).
The series ends with Bix carrying her and Cassian's son. This references a line Luten said about how he burned his life to create a sunrise that he knows she will never see. Cassian sacrificed his life for the sake of the galaxy for the sake of a sunrise (i.e. his son) that he will never see.
