When Star Wars' was taken over by Disney, it seemed like there would be a lot of games based on the franchise. However, the exclusive contract between the studio and EA has meant that fans have been waiting for something for a long time.

In 2015, the Star Wars Battlefront series was relatively successfully relaunched. The developers from DICE took into account the mistakes with the sequel, but the publisher decided not to make a third part. Therefore, since 2017, Battlefront has been idle again.

In recent days, the second Battlefront has experienced a massive surge in players, which is associated with the release of the series finale of Star Wars: Andor. This caught the attention of the show's star, Muhannad Ben Amor (Wilmon). He attached a photo with 469 hours played inBattlefront 2on PS5 and wrote:

Star Wars needs to give us Battlefront 3 as soon as possible. I grew up with Battlefront 2and am a veteran from day one. WE HOPE that Battlefront 3will come out.

Will Star Wars Battlefront 3 be released?

It seems unlikely that EA and DICE will return to the series, since the main focus is on Battlefield. The new shooter is planned to be released before spring 2026 and then supported with content.

There were plans for a third part of Battlefield, but they were abandoned. It's all about the large royalties for the license.

The upcoming big games based on Star Wars are expected to include the strategy Star Wars: Zero Company and the action game Star Wars Jedi 3.
