A strange new Empire will appear in Ahsoka 2
Most fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of Ahsoka's story - especially since the first season of the solo series ended with several shocking events. Thrawn returned to the mainStar Warsgalaxy, while Sabine Wren and Ahsoka Tano were stuck on Peridea.

The trailer has already confirmed that Thrawn will continue to try to restore the Empire, and Dave Filoni has stated that the Gods of Mortis will "definitely play a role." In a new interview with Empire magazine, Filoni spoke more about the upcoming season. According to him, a new version of Palpatine's Empire will appear in the show, but “something strange is happening” with it, and it “is not the same Empire anymore.”
While this doesn't provide a complete picture of what exactly the new Empire will be like, the confirmed return of the Gods of Mortis hints that Filoni intends to bring the more mystical side ofStar Warsto the live-action format. Something similar has already been seen in the animated seriesThe Clone Wars.
The mystical side of Star Wars will return
Lucasfilm co-president noted that the audience is divided into those who think like Scully and those who think like Mulder, and both need to be pleased. Some may say: “This is some kind of nonsense, seriously?”, and others - “Well... what if it’s true?”
Why do we so easily believe in Force ghosts? Where is the truth here? Fans will argue about this, and I think that's the beauty of the fan community.
This apparently means that Filoni is really going to delve deeper into the mystical, supernatural side of a galaxy far, far away. Of course, some decisions will cause controversy among fans.
The continuation of the show will premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027.
