LEGO calls to cross Star Wars with Marvel
LEGO is allowing fans to mix two of Disney's top-grossing universes into one set for the first time in history. At New York Comic Con 2026, the company officially launched the LEGO Ideas "Hope Assembles" challenge, in which anyone can submit their own Star Wars and Marvel crossover design. And the winning entry will become a real product.

The challenge is divided into three categories, and in each you need to combine elements of both universes:
- Vehicle Fusion - Take the iconic ship from A New Hope and reimagine it with Marvel technology. For example, the X-wing refitted by Reed Richards, or the Star Destroyer assembled by Magneto.
- Character fusion - cross the heroes of two worlds. Captain America with a lightsaber? Wolverine Wookiee? Darth Vader with the Infinity Gauntlet? The rules allow everything.
- Scene Merging - Recreate a canonical moment from A New Hope as if the Avengers were involved, or transfer a scene from Marvel comics to the backdrop of a galaxy far, far away.
The only hard restriction: only A New Hope from Star Wars can be used. From Marvel - any characters and any comics.
Amount of work: from 400 to 3000 parts. You can build using real bricks or virtually in BrickLink Studio. Acceptance of works: until November 12, 2026. LEGO internal selection: from November 14 to December 14, 2026. Public voting: from December 15, 2026 to January 4, 2027. Winner announcement: April 5, 2027. The winner will receive the standard 1% royalty on sales of the set and their name will appear in the building instructions, like all creators whose projects are featured through LEGO Ideas.

The challenge is timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Star Wars in 2027 and serves as a promotional campaign for the comic book Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles, the first issue of which will be released in January 2027.
