More than three decades after Star Wars: X-Wing first put PC players in the cockpit of the Rebels, a team of fans are still working to make the experience suitable for modern hardware.

The XWVM Project has released a new development video that will be released in July 2026. It highlights the public launch of the project and showcases what the team is currently working on.

No, it's not just someone upping the resolution and declaring victory.

XWVM recreates the gameplay of the original game on a modern engine, while maintaining the missions, mechanics and structure that made this 1993 classic significant in the first place.

Star Wars Galaxies Legends has a major update for 2026

Star Wars Galaxies Legends has a major update for 2026

The Star Wars Galaxies project officially ceased to exist in 2011.

Apparently, no one reported this to those involved in its maintenance.

SWG Legends has released a massive development update scheduled for August 2026 and this is not one of those community server patches where someone changes three item drop options and color of the headdress. The update brings back the Battle of Restuss, rewrites some of its PvP structure, adds new rewards, modernizes the client, expands bounty hunting, and quietly upgrades the underlying server architecture to 64-bit.

For a game released in 2003, that last sentence requires a pause.

August 11, 2026 will go down in history as a significant day: a crossover between two of the biggest franchises of all time will officially take place.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Star Wars next year, Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm Publishing are teaming up for the first-ever crossover between Star Wars and Marvel in the form of an epic comic book series called Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles.

This five-issue crossover comic, written by Kevin Smith and drawn by David Marquez, will see Star Wars heroes like Luke, Han and Leia team up with the Avengers and Spider-Man against Darth Vader, Doctor Doom and the Galactic Empire.

Star Wars/Marvel: The Gathering of Hope takes place on Earth-616, where the Marvel Universe exists. A devastating spell occurs on Earth that suddenly allows the heroes of the Marvel Universe to see the events of A New Hope unfold on Earth right before their eyes.

Han Solo walks into the Mos Eisley cantina, has a brief but increasingly unpleasant conversation with Greedo, shoots him, tosses the bartender some credits, and leaves to continue one of the most important adventures in galactic history.

Very heroic.

There is one practical problem, however, that A New Hope never addresses: someone has to clear the table.

After almost fifty years, PowerWash Simulator 2 finally has the answer. One of the missions in his Star Wars Pack sends the janitor droid P0-W2 to the Mos Eisley Cantina after Han meets Greedo.

Finally, Star Wars remembered those who come after the heroes leave.

One of the most interesting things Bit Reactor revealed about Star Wars: Zero Company is surprisingly easy to overlook.

The game is primarily a turn-based tactics game, but some story missions begin before the tactical battle begins. Hawks can explore small areas from a third-person perspective, conducting reconnaissance and gathering information before the camera pans back and blaster fire begins.

And this is not just sightseeing. What Hawks discovers during these spy sequences can yield intelligence and advantage points, providing your squad with tangible benefits early in the fight.

La Cara in a scene from Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi.

After releasing three critically acclaimed volumes of the hit animated anthology series Star Wars Visions over the past five years, one of the show's most beloved episodes has been expanded into a full-length feature-length series, now available to stream on Disney+.

Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, from Production I.G and writer/director Kenji Kamiyama, takes place after the events of "The Ninth Jedi" from Visions Volume 1 and "The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope" from Visions Volume 3. The story takes place approximately 1,000 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, although it should be noted that the new series is technically not canon. La Cara, the daughter of renowned lightsaber master La Zhima, continues her training with Jedi Master Margrave Yuro, who is gradually trying to restore the Jedi Order. Meanwhile, the warlord Navaam, who kidnapped Zhima, is determined to stop the rise of the new Jedi Order and take over the galaxy with his fledgling empire.
