Star Wars: Starfighter director Shawn Levy talked about the similarities with Stranger Things. Levy was an executive producer and director of the hit Netflix series.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter the director expressed his desire that "Star Starfighter" felt "epic and intimate" in the same way that "Stranger Things" did. He also talked about how the show taught him not to be overwhelmed by franchise expectations and instead focus on the characters.

If I've learned anything from Stranger Things, it's that the scale of a franchise's expectations can be daunting. But you will go astray if you focus on this. I realized the need to stay true to the characters, underlying themes and relationships on screen. Yes, there is spectacle and scale here, just like in “Stranger Things.” And of course, Star Wars has spectacle, scale, and adventure on a level that I have never achieved in my entire career. But like “Stranger Things,” it’s also heavily character-driven. I think if I can balance the epic with the intimate like the Duffer Brothers did. I will be able to create an original new Star Wars adventure that will truly satisfy fans and audiences.

Kathleen Kennedy may still leave the post of president of Lucasfilm in the near future. This could lead to changes in Star Wars, which has been criticized for controversial decisions under her.

Last year it was already reported that Kennedy was leaving leadership. Now these rumors have resurfaced. This time it became known who will replace her.

According to Puck News, Kennedy will be replaced by Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan, who will serve as co-heads of the studio. The system will be reminiscent of DC Studios, where James Gunn is in charge of creative decisions and Peter Safran is in charge of money.

Filoni previously held the post of creative director at Lucasfilm, so his responsibilities will not change much. At the same time, Brennan will continue to serve as CEO of Lucasfilm Business.

Kennedy's departure is expected to be announced in the next few weeks. Representatives from Disney and Lucasfilm did not comment on the information.

In an interview with the New York Times, the director said that his film has a surprise lightsaber duel - and that Tom Cruise participated in it. According to Levy, during filming he was constantly visited by top Hollywood stars.

"Steven Spielberg was here last week, and now Cruise was on set," Levy said. The actor arrived on the set by helicopter. The team was preparing for a lightsaber duel in the water.

Now, when you watch the film, you will know that Tom was on the set at that time. Isn't that cool?

Fans have been creating anime and Star Wars mash-ups for years. And some of them turn out just great. They are so good that Lucasfilm released a full-fledged anime, Star Wars: Visions, which is already preparing for the release of its second season. But that doesn't stop fans from still creating their own Star Wars anime mashups. Via Comic BookOpens In A New Tab, we learned about one fan montage from TikTok user @random_rogue26 that uses clips from the animated series Galaxy of Adventures. After years of speculation, a new report from Puck News' Matt Belloni claims that Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan will soon replace Kathleen Kennedy as co-presidents of Lucasfilm.

According to the report, Dave Filoni will lead all creative development for Lucasfilm, and Lynwen Brennan (current president and CEO of Lucasfilm Business) will oversee the executive and commercial sides of the company.

This structure with two co-presidents is similar to the structure of DC Studios. James Gunn is the creative head of the Warner Bros.-owned studio, while Peter Safran is in charge of business development. Lucasfilm appears to be replicating this structure as part of the company's post-Kennedy reorganization in the near future.

It is currently unknown exactly when Kathleen Kennedy will leave Lucasfilm, although media rumors suggest it will be sooner rather than later. If The Mandalorian and Grogu is a financial and critical success when it hits theaters in May, Kennedy might want to retire on a high note.

The half-forgotten Star Wars Racer Revenge has soared in price due to a new method of hacking PS5

The half-forgotten Star Wars Racer Revenge has soared in price due to a new method of hacking PS5

Physical copies of Star Wars Racer Revenge suddenly sharply increased in price on the secondary market. The reason for the hype is rumors that the game code can be used to hack the PlayStation 5 if the original disc is in the drive.

According to recent sales on eBay, the re-release of Star Wars Racer Revenge for PS4 has been selling for $300 and up over the past 24 hours, and the price continues to rise. For comparison:

  • On December 31, more than a dozen copies were sold at prices ranging from $80 to $166;
  • On January 1, 11 more discs sold for $180–364;
  • there are now dozens of lots on sale with price tags of $300–400 and above.

The physical version of Star Wars Racer Revenge reportedly plays a key role in the new method of hacking the PS5. The exploit supposedly works only if the original disc is present, which provoked a massive purchase of boxed copies. If the hack is successful, users will be able to run pirated games and third-party software.

The original Star Wars Racer Revenge was released on PlayStation 2 back in 2002, and in 2019 it received a re-release for PS4 from Limited Run Games. It is estimated that the circulation was about 8.5 thousand copies. Until recently, the disc was easily sold on eBay for about $20, which makes the current price hike especially noticeable.
