Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles Remaster Review – Go back to your childhood... if you dare

When I was younger, Star Wars games were coming out all the time. The saga, under the direction of George Lucas, ran like a well-oiled machine, and the fan base grew with each new film. Several games were timed to coincide with the release of the first episode, but none of them were particularly successful. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Star Wars: Obi-Wan were included in the lists of the worst releases, and Star Wars: Episode I Racer is still considered the best. As for Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles, it falls somewhere in the middle. The critics didn't like it, but millions of young space opera fans didn't complain. The game allowed you to control several Jedi at once, visit all the places from the film and feel like a hero. In other words, cool.

Destiny 2 and Star Wars: Epic Collaboration

The Destiny 2 gaming community has received a lot of news lately that not only expands the game world, but also brings new elements to the game. In this text, we'll look at details about the latest expansion of The Final Shape and the upcoming collaboration with the Star Wars franchise.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is the latest expansion in the series, representing an epilogue to the story of Light and Darkness. This expansion balances between a compelling story and expertly paced combat and puzzles, all set in amazing environments. According to Bungie, more than 70% of players report improved gameplay with the release of this expansion.

30 minutes of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in 4K at maximum on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090

IGN continues to touch the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090: this time on YouTube you can watch 30 minutes of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in 4K at maximum settings.

The gameplay on Coruscant is the one with the largest number of technical problems that occurred at release almost two years ago. However, after a year and a half, Respawn and EA even managed to pull off an action-adventure game on last-generation consoles.

The overlay allows you to monitor frame rate, latency, and load on the video card and processor in real time.

Star Wars: New Jedi Order: Why is this movie even needed?

The sequel trilogy of the Star Wars franchise (episodes 7-9) turned out to be controversial. Both in terms of reputation and in terms of finances, these films are now hated by almost all fans of a galaxy far, far away. In this regard, it was difficult to imagine that Disney would decide on any kind of continuation, but they decided - in 2023 they presented us with a film in which Ray, the protagonist of the sequels, would again become the main character.

First, let's take a look at what was wrong with the sequels.

After the House of Mouse purchased the rights to the franchise, many Star Wars fans were seriously scared, deciding that Disney would not be able to do anything worthwhile within its framework. And so it happened: “Mickey Mouse” confirmed all the fears and destroyed the George Lucas franchise with its actions.

Ryan Gosling may star in Star Wars movie from Deadpool 3 director

After years of rumors, Ryan Gosling is finally ready to become part of the Star Wars universe by joining Shawn Levy's project.

The publication The Hollywood Reporter reports that the actor is in talks with Disney and Lucasfilm about participating in the upcoming untitled film. At the time of writing, Gosling's potential role and the plot of the film remain unknown.

Insiders reported that this will be an independent story that has no connections with the new trilogy. Levi himself did not comment on the project.

The Star Wars movie about Rey is not canceled, but the script will be rewritten

The continuation of the story of Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, was announced almost a couple of years ago, and Lucasfilm still cannot decide on the film.

Last year, Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”) left the project, whose script the management allegedly didn’t really like. He was replaced by George Nolfi (“The Bourne Ultimatum,” “Ocean’s 12”), according to the publication THR.

At one point, it seemed that Star Wars: The New Jedi Order (as the film is unofficially called) was cancelled. The appointment of a new screenwriter indicates Lucasfilm's faith in the film. Perhaps Rey's story is simply so important to the new trilogy that it cannot be abandoned.

The most expensive LEGO set in 2025 was based on the movie "Star Wars"

Every year LEGO releases a huge set with tons of parts. This year, it could be the Death Star II from Star Wars.

Return of the Jedi came out over 40 years ago, and during that time many LEGO sets based on the film have been released. The most famous, perhaps, was the second, more powerful Death Star.

As noted by the portal TheDirect, an insider under the nickname fateful_04 reported the release of a new version of the Death Star. The release is expected in October this year.

The set will cost $999.99. This will make the new Death Star the most expensive model in the history of the Danish company.

Graphics comparison of Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles on PlayStation 1 and PC

When re-releasing ancient Star Wars games, Aspyr usually doesn't bother with graphics, simply stretching the classics onto modern platforms. IGN decided to compare the new version of the side-scroller Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles with the original.

The latter came out from under the keyboard of LucasArts and was released in 2000 on the PlayStation console, later also hitting the Dreamcast and Game Boy Advance. Featuring heroes and villains from The Phantom Menace, co-op and duels. The “remaster” is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbos Series X|S and Nintendo Switch from January 23.

Fans liked the remaster of the action Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles

The remaster of Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles was released on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. In the short release trailer, you can see that the action game, originally released in 2000, has retained its classic spirit with low-poly models and simple level design.

Users on Steam left very positive reviews for the nostalgic new product. Players praised the developers from Aspyr for another update of the classic - it allows you to enjoy the game from childhood on modern computers and consoles, including co-op.

There were also some disadvantages, which did not spoil the overall impression of the remaster. For example, players noticed a lack of destructibility in some objects that could be broken on the original PlayStation. Also, not everyone liked the overly simple graphics update - visually the game continues to be perceived as a project from 2000.

Peak online Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles on Steam was 329 people. This is one of the worst results among Aspyr remasters so far. For example, Bounty Hunter was played by 633 people at its peak, and the December remasters of the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver duology were played by over four thousand gamers.

The studio behind Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi will soon reveal a Star Wars strategy

The Star Wars franchise continues to expand. Looks like another RTS game is coming soon.

Various games are made based on the Star Wars franchise, and there were also strategies. Recently we were reminded about one of these projects again.

@bogorad222 claims that Respawn Entertainment will soon present a strategy for the Star Wars franchise - this can be done between April 18 and April 20, when Star will be held in Japan Wars Celebration.

Insider Tom Henderson reacted to this - said that the gamer provided him with “sufficient evidence” of the veracity of this information (he allegedly received the data from only one source).

Star Wars RTS was announced at the beginning of 2022. The game is made by Bit Reactor, the project is supervised by Respawn Entertainment, known to many for Apex Legends, Titanfall, Star Wars Jedi.
